Summer Lookbook

So seeing as the summer season has sneakily crept it's way up on us, for today's blog post we thought we'd share three wonderful, beachwear looks with you that we'll certainly be rocking this season!

Flowy dresses are a must for any ladies summer wardrobe! Not only are they super comfortable to throw on for a day at the beach, but they're incredibly flattering too. This little number is from Nelly.com and we're sure it'll be a firm staple for many this year!

Floaty beach dress and an over sized floppy hat, they're just a match made in heaven. Not only will a large hat protect your head, face and eyes from the sun, but they're set to be bigger than ever this year, no pun intended. Debenhams currently have a large selection but this is our current favourite, with the delicate, beaded details to the crown, it's beyond adorable.

Why not match your straw hat with a straw bag? A spacious bag is a must have for the beach to carry all your summer essentials in, but why settle for a boring tote when you can have one of these adorable Rip Curl "Aloha" beach bags?! What makes this bag even more convenient is that it has a top zip closure which many other beach bags fail to have.

Lastly, a super casual beach look wouldn't be complete without some sandals would it! The printed bands on this pair have a real holiday vibe don't they. These sandals are faux leather based making them suitable for just about everyone!

If you fancy a beach/poolside look that's a little bit more formal then this second look is for you!

A black swimsuit is timeless and suits everyone! This one in particular is from John Lewis and even has tummy control. The great thing about full piece swimsuits is that you can pair it with a pair of shorts or, in this case, a sarong and not have to worry about what top to wear! Just pop a sarong around your waist and you're good to go!

Sarongs are another summer essential that we couldn't possibly live without! Something so simple, yet something so elegant! The sarong we chose for this look has a gorgeous, Miami inspired palm tree print right across it, with vibrant but easy to wear blue and green hues. Sarong's are more often than not made from super lightweight material, making them comfortable and cool to wear through the warmer months.

Tortoise shell flecked sunglasses will never go out of fashion, we repeat, never! This particular pair have a very vintage feel to them but they're actually from a modern online store called Monki and they're only £8! A super summer bargain!

These strappy black sandals are yet another great summer staple because not only are they perfect for heading down to the beach but they're great for popping around town too. Being black, they pair perfectly with any outfit. If there's one summer staple you walk away ordering today then we highly suggest it be these black strappy sandals!

This necklace really glams up this beach look, don't you think? Perfect for pool side parties too! A beautiful range of light, summery colours on a silver chain to add an extra pop to your outfit.

Once again, a large bag is a must. This sprakly beach tote has a gorgeous shade of metallic blue along the bottom half of the bag, again perfect for adding that extra pop to your look!

Our last look is one for those wanting to show off that statement bikini you've got hidden away at the back of the wardrobe. Come on ladies, it wants to come out and play!

Sheer, baggy shirts are a great way to flaunt brightly coloured/patterned swimwear. They're also perfect for keeping cool on those super sweaty summer days. This shirt in particular is from a site called Otte but most stores, both on the high street and online, produce similar ones in the summer in a variety of colours.

Speaking of brightly coloured swimwear, over the last couple of years, "Triangl" swimwear have taken the world by storm and quickly become a firm blogger favourite. This year is no different! This neon mint and bright pink balconnet style two piece is is something funky, fresh and current. If you're looking for a bikini with a bit more shazam this year, then this is the perfect choice.

How adorable are these crochet shorts from Boohoo.com? Ideal for all summer long, even when styling an evening outfit! What make's them even better is that they're only £15, bargain! Adding that extra little bit of detail to your outfits can make all the difference.

Gladiator sandals are making another come back this summer, which was evident when they appeared all over the S/S15 catwalk, including on lines such as Chloe and Hermes! Gladiator sandals are great for adding a bit of an edgy/tough gal vibe to your look.

No summer beachwear blog post would be complete without the iconic Wildfox Bel Air sunglasses. Definitely a designer price tag, but they work brilliantly with this slightly edgy beach look.

Top this outfit off with a big, chunky piece of jewelry, such as this chunky cuff from Boohoo.com. This gold cuff has pretty patterned detailing and large stones embedded on the surface. Another bargain at just £8 that will help to draw that extra bit of attention to your look!

So which of these beachwear looks are you loving? How will you be rocking this season's trends this summer? Let us know below!

Snow White Inspired Look and Style with BeautyCiti and Maisie Gibbons - Have a blog to share email it to info@beautyciti.com

Top | Skirt | Garland | Necklace | Shoes | Lipstick | Nail Polish

So, I originally made this set yonks ago! I found it in my drafts a couple of days ago, but seeing as most of the items I'd used were out of stock, I decided to re-vamp it and voila! I'm a real big lover of Disney so I'm surprised that I've not already blogged something like this before?! Let's have a quick talk through, shall we!

First up, seeing as it's coming up to spring time now, I decided to go with a little cropped, short sleeved tee. Last year these bad boys were everywhere so i'm sure they'll be everywhere again this year. This one in particular is from a store called Forever New and it's about £8. They're super easy to pair with anything and super comfortable too, especially through the warmer months! This shade, described on the website as "imperial blue", is pretty much on point for the top half of Snow's dress, don't ya think?

I decided to go with a midi skirt for this look to keep it looking classy! I was simply searching for "yellow skirts" when I found this one from Choies. Not only does it work for this Snow White inspired look but oh my it's beautiful in it's own right*coughcough it's high waisted, always a winner*! If you go through to the Choies website, you'll see at the bottom of the page they have some bloggers styling this skirt and holy wow I need this piece in my wardrobe! It's an absolute steal right now at just under £13!

I've kept the head wear fairly subtle for this look, just because I want this to be more of an inspired look as appose to a costume, you feel me? This adorable little flower garland is from New Look and it's only £3.99. Maybe flower garlands wont be as big this year as they have been in recent years, but none the less, i'll still be donning them all summer long, as always, because who doesn't want to feel like a fairy princess?!

This super cute necklace is a little piece from etsy! I'm pretty much a collector of necklace's and i'm so tempted to order this one for myself!  Not really a necessity for this look but it's adorable, so why not?! You can order yourself one now for just over £16!

Okay, if this outfit wasn't cute before, how unbelievably cute is it with these Modcloth shoes?! I've fallen in love(for the 237218378 time, I know, shh) and I just can't quite believe how perfect they are?! They're the perfect nude shade so they'll suit the majority of my spring/summer wardrobe and they're not that high(0.5 inch platform and 3 inch wedge) so they should be super comfy too! I was really stuck on what shoes to pair with this look but I think these just add such a lovely touch.

I think red lips are a given for any Snow White inspired look, I chose one of Kate's lipsticks because they're cheap and pretty darn good! I believe the one above is shade #09 but i'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that. Although, #107 would work perfectly too!

So there we have it, what do you think of my Snow White inspired look? I'd love to see if you've got any Disney inspired outfits? Hope you have a wonderful day!

18 Hours work with Clarins

I picked up my Clarins Everlasting Foundation today!

In all the years working in Beauty I have been so use to applying my foundation and doing the retouches in my break, lunch etc.. However today maybe the day I stop doing that as yesterday I tried the Everlasting Foundation from Clarins.
This lasted me 18 hours and it gave me what I needed: shine control, flawless complexion, a matte finish and hydration all day...
What's the secret? There are many I would imagine! however here's one to keep you in the loop!
Bamboo Powder (has matifying properties which give exceptional hold whilst minimizing the appearance of dark spots, imperfections and redness leaving you and me with that all over flawless complexion).

With 10 great shades to choose from it was easy to get my shade right too and I think at £27.50 its a worth while investment.

London Fashion Week Makeup Tips

London Fashion Week opens up once again a whole new look and feel.
What do we see - Sophistication, Drama, Natural or Romantic?

Let's go Sophisticated! This is a timeless, classy look and works great you can also wear this look anytime. We'll be focussing on defined eyes and lips and using Cool & Warm tones, if you're unsure on colours and tones we've selected a few for you:
Cool Colours: Pink, Berry, Mauve, Blue and Plum
Warm Colours: Nude, Brown, Gold, Green, Coral and Red
 The basics you need are:
Foundation, concealer, powder, 2 eyeshades (1 light & 1 dark), eyeliner, mascara, blusher, lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss and your ever faithful brow definer.

Ok lets get started...
  1. Firstly you want to even your skin tone with your foundation, simply add concealer to help correct any dark circles and blemishes.
  2. Not everyone likes using a powder however this is a great product to use to set your foundation
  3. Slightly use a light shadow from your lash line to your brow line, once you have completed this take your eyeliner and apply carefully along your lash line of your upper lid along to your lashes.
  4. Then simply take your darker shade blend over the liner and build out towards the upper quarter of the lid this will enable you to emphasise your eyes even more.
  5. Now build your Mascara as much as you want to! however once again to keep a truly classic look don't go overkill.
  6. Follow then with your blusher, giving that contoured effect by blending from your near your down towards your nose following your natural cheekbone area.
  7. To give you that all over finish simply apply your lip liner by naturally following the outline of your lips another great tip is to fill in the lips with your liner this again will give you more depth with the colour if needed. It also helps your lipstick to hold great staying power.
  8. Finally smooth on that lipstick and glide over with your lip gloss too...
There you have it! your very own BeautyCiti LFW Makeup.

Our favourite colour for A/W 2015 is Plum...

Chanel Haute Couture Show S/S15

Chanel's Haute Couture Spring/Summer Fashion Show was simply one of a kind.
Karl Lagerfeld created inspirational & breath-taking designs with a touch of colour, with the star model being the one & only Kendall Jenner, the clothes of art were simply beautiful.

The show itself was inspired by a majestical garden-themed background with pops of yellow and pink-tones everywhere, the models were draped in dainty garments that captured ones eye...
The show began by a male model watering the flowers, after he had finished, the flowers began blooming and changed from the once dull grey shades to the beautiful tropical shades.
People had never seen someone have such creativity into their show...
As far as makeup goes, the models wore a nude-eye pared with a vibrant coral-red lip, the clothes were the star of the show along with Kendall Jenner, one-of-a-kind show that if you blinked, you would have missed it all x

Urban Decay: Mascara Ressurection

Using Mascara Resurrection is like performing CPR on the multiple coats already clinging to your lashes. Just swipe it on, reapply, and walk out the door like you own the world. Because, with this tube, you pretty much do.
With it's curved bristles a volumizing lash appears on the eyes. The simple galaxy-gradient packaging is to die for, not only is it a fabulous mascara but a way of telling all that this girl runs the world!
